Accountants Are Not Just Bean Counters
Accountants. We all have different thoughts on them. Boring and stiff, expensive or those nice people who will save us a few quid from the taxman. Whatever you think they, like any other business, need to stand out from the rest. Townhouse was approached by two partnerships who were merging and needed a brand new identity and launch programme for Howards Chartered Accountants.
We needed to differentiate Howards in both the local press and the regional business media. Our creative thinking was “not just bean counters” and so we set about creating a new logo, stationery, brochures, advertising, signage, website and a PR programme all within two months which so happened to coincide with Christmas. Christmas was cancelled and we produced everything on time for the launch party.
Why are we using this as a case study? Simple, we applied big brand tactics to a small business. Howards don’t have a marketing department, we liaised with the Partners who passed over the running of the communications plan to us. The upshot was a memorable launch and an identity which will last for many years.
We still work for Howards and before you ask, they are the company accountants.
