An amazing Lotto jackpot prize of £1,197,899 has yet to be claimed in the Borough of Dudley, so National Lottery players are being urged to check and double-check their tickets for the chance to claim this life-changing prize in time.
The search is now on to find the owner of the winning ticket, bought in the Borough of Dudley, who matched all six numbers in the Lotto draw on Saturday 29 May 2010. The winning Lotto numbers on that date were 2, 17, 36, 39, 42, 48 and the bonus ball was 41. The lucky ticket-holder has until 5.30pm on Thursday 25 November 2010 to make their claim.
If no-one comes forward with the winning ticket before the prize claim deadline, then the prize money, plus all the interest it has generated, will go to the Good Causes‚ adding to the £24 billion already raised through sales of lottery tickets since The National Lottery launched in November 1994.
To help seek out the lucky ticket-holder The National Lottery went into overdrive organising a procession of exotic cars driving throughout the Borough of Dudley. Driving slowly, nose to tail‚ in a Top Gear‚ style parade past such landmarks as the Castle and Merry Hill, through the town centre and down to Kingswinford, they handed out leaflets about the unclaimed jackpot to startled pedestrians who heard the raw of the powerful engines. They then drove back to Himley Hall through the normally closed West Gate, along the amazing tree lined avenue before stopping at the courtyard.
Included in the parade were:
| Car | OTR Price | Top Speed | 0-62mph | Engine |
| Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder | £172,000 | 192mph | 4.2 secs | 5 litre V10, 500 BHP |
| Bentley Continental GT | £115,000 | 197mph | 4.8 secs | 6litre W12 twin turbo 550 BHP |
| Audi R8 | £98,000 | 187mph | 4.4 secs | 4.2 FSI V8 420 BHP |
| Porsche Turbo | £101,000 | 196mph | 4.2 secs | 3.6 litre flat 6 490 BHP |
| Aston Martin DB9 | £111,000 | 190 mph | 4.6 secs | 5.9 litre V12, 514 BHP |
(all OTR prices are approximate and performance figures are from the manufacturers websites)
A National Lottery spokesperson said: We‚ are desperate to find this mystery ticket-holder and unite them with their winnings‚ this amazing prize could really make a huge difference to somebody‚ life. We are urging everyone to check their old tickets again or look anywhere a missing ticket could be hiding.
Try checking in the pockets of clothing, in wallets, bags and down the back of the sofa‚ someone out there could literally be sitting on a fortune! We have the champagne on ice and our fingers crossed that the lucky winner comes forward to claim their win
To jog Lotto players‚ memories, Nothing‚ on You by Bob Ft Bruno Mars topped the UK singles chart at the time, while the Rolling Stones were at the top of the album chart with Exile on Main St.
Closer to home, locals may have visited the Castle High Art exhibition which had started that week at the Dudley Museum and Art Gallery and on the literary front, the Black Country‚ as annual book celebration, Big Book Fortnight, was coming to an end.
